Freed Killer of Logan Tipton Rearrested in Florida on New Charges

Man Convicted of 2015 Child Murder Rearrested in Florida

The man responsible for the 2015 murder of a 6-year-old in Kentucky was recently reapprehended in Florida. Ronald Exantus, who served just eight years of a 20-year sentence for stabbing Logan Tipton repeatedly while he slept, was taken into custody for violating parole and failing to register as a sex offender.

Exantus was released last week despite recommendations from the parole board to complete his full sentence. Authorities in Florida, alerted to his presence, obtained a warrant for his arrest. He is now being held at Marion County Jail while efforts are underway to return him to Kentucky.

In the 2015 attack, Exantus invaded the child’s home and inflicted multiple stab wounds to Tipton’s head with a kitchen knife. Several family members were also injured during the invasion. Court records from 2018 reveal that Exantus was deemed criminally insane at the time of the murder, leading to a conviction on assault charges and his sentencing to 20 years behind bars.

However, critics have expressed outrage over his early release, with the Tipton family voicing intense fear and anger. The child’s father, Dean Tipton, has vowed to protect his remaining children and has expressed his intent to retaliate if they ever encounter Exantus again.
