Trump anticipates Israeli hostage release Monday amid Gaza peace celebrations

President Trump Predicts Release of Remaining Israeli Hostages on Monday

Following a recent breakthrough in peace negotiations between Israel and Hamas, President Donald Trump announced that all remaining Israeli hostages are expected to be released by Monday. This development comes shortly after both parties agreed to the initial phase of his 20-point peace plan for the Middle East.

Trump expressed concern for the hostages, roughly 48 individuals believed to be held in Gaza, many of whom are presumed dead. “They are in a dire situation, being held underground, and many deteriorating. We are doing everything possible to secure their freedom,” he said.

Family members celebrating the peace deal
Family members of the hostages celebrated the agreement, vowing to continue efforts until all 48 are reunited with their loved ones.

Trump conveyed in a video message that he had spoken with families of the hostages and assured them, “They will all be coming back on Monday.” Family members expressed their gratitude, one saying, “Thank you, President Trump, for your courage and dedication.” Another added, “We trust you to bring every single hostage home.”

After announcing the deal, Trump also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who reportedly was astounded, saying, “I can’t believe it,” and remarked on the shifting perception of his leadership. Trump advised Netanyahu that Israel cannot fight alone against the entire region, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation for peace.

The peace agreement, which is expected to temporarily pause fighting in Gaza, will be reviewed by the Israeli cabinet on Thursday. Following approval, Israeli forces will begin withdrawing from parts of Gaza, with the 72-hour countdown to hostage release starting shortly after. U.S. officials believe the process will initiate on Monday.

Trump credited recent U.S. actions, including targeted airstrikes on Iran and his trade policies, as instrumental in achieving this peace. He explained that Iran, which he claims has “blessed” the deal, was close to acquiring nuclear weapons, and preventing that was critical to the negotiation’s success.

Looking ahead, Trump anticipates Gaza will become a safer and reconstructive area, with regional nations contributing to its recovery. The United States plans to stay involved to support stability and peace in the region.
