Francia Raisa Breaks Silence on Feud Rumors After Selena Gomez’s Wedding Snub
Francia Raisa Addresses Rumors of Feud with Selena Gomez
Francia Raisa, who donated a kidney to Selena Gomez in 2017 due to her lupus, has publicly dismissed recent rumors suggesting a falling-out between them. When asked about claims that she was upset with Gomez smoking after her transplant, Raisa clarified in an interview that she had never spoken on such matters and was unaware of any such reports.
Days before Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco, Raisa emphasized that the media-generated rumors were false. She stated, “There are many rumors, but I never said anything about being angry or disgusted. I wasn’t aware of those claims.”
Despite the speculation, Raisa and Gomez have maintained a close bond. Gomez shared heartfelt posts about Raisa, expressing her deep gratitude for her friend’s life-saving gesture. Gomez reflected on the medical procedure, sharing images of them holding hands in the hospital, and wrote, “She gave me a gift and a sacrifice by donating her kidney. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis.”
However, rumors of a feud resurfaced in 2022 after Gomez referred to Taylor Swift as her “only friend in the industry.” Raisa responded to Gomez’s interview by posting “Interesting” on Instagram, which she later deleted. Gomez later called Raisa her “best friend,” indicating that their relationship had healed.
In a different context, Raisa’s father claimed Raisa confronted Gomez about her drinking habits following the transplant, asserting that she didn’t donate her kidney so Gomez could indulge in alcohol. Raisa’s absence from Gomez’s wedding was noted, but she expressed happiness for her friend’s marriage. Gomez’s wedding was attended by numerous celebrities, including Taylor Swift, who reportedly joked Gomez would tie the knot before her.
