Dutiful Dog Finds Missing Owner’s Mother — Police Rescue Video
Dog Leads Deputies to Injured Elderly Woman During Late-Night Search
In a heartwarming rescue, a persistent dog named Eeyore refused to leave the side of deputies searching for his missing owner’s elderly mother. The deputies initially struggled to get Eeyore to follow them, but when they decided to follow his lead, they discovered the woman lying injured on the sidewalk.
On September 25, a deputy responded to a call about a missing senior woman in Destin, Florida. Her husband explained that she had gone for a walk with their child’s dog, Eeyore, but she hadn’t returned in over an hour. The search quickly intensified as the dog’s behavior drew attention.
Deputy Devon Miller, known for rescuing a cat from a drainage ditch previously, soon spotted Eeyore wandering down the street. The dog was visibly anxious but quickly showed affection toward Miller. As Miller encouraged him to lead the way, Eeyore abruptly turned and started guiding her into a nearby neighborhood.
Following the dog, Miller found the elderly woman lying on the sidewalk. She was conscious and alert, though possibly injured. The woman’s quick recovery and clear mental state were praised by responders, and she was soon reunited with her family.
Eeyore’s loyalty was evident as he continuously returned to Miller, leading her straight to his owner’s injured mother. The woman expressed gratitude, praising her dog for his keen instincts and brave actions. The rescue underscored the bond and sense of purpose that animals can provide, especially in moments of crisis.
