Denise Richards Testifies About Years of Alleged Abuse by Estranged Husband

During a tearful court hearing, actress and former reality TV star Denise Richards shared emotional details about the alleged abuse she endured from her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers. She claimed that he caused her to suffer at least three concussions, leaving her feeling nauseous and unwell.

Richards appeared before a Los Angeles Superior Court to seek the permanent enforcement of a temporary restraining order against Phypers. She recounted multiple incidents, including an assault on January 17, 2022, which resulted in a black eye. She also alleged that between March and May 2022, Phypers slammed her against a wall, hitting her head. Another fight in April 2025 involved her saying he squeezed her head so hard she felt her skull was being crushed, leading to chiropractor-diagnosed concussions.

Most recently, in May, Richards testified that Phypers smashed her head with his palm while shouting for her phone, fearing he might seriously injure her. She explained that she complied out of fear, especially since she was recovering from complex surgery at the time.

Richards also claimed that Phypers had nearly “killed” her multiple times. She described a particularly volatile fight on July 4, where she was vulnerable after a facelift and stitches, and he allegedly called her hurtful names and physically grabbed her. She asserted that Phypers’ own cousin confirmed witnessing him hitting her and seeing her with a black eye in January 2022.

Phypers denies all abuse allegations, asserting he has never harmed Richards and accusing her of harassment. A close source claims her accusations are “bullying tactics” meant to deceive, and that he will be cleared when the truth emerges. Richards’ legal battle continues, with the court considering whether to make her restraining order permanent. If granted, Phypers will be ordered to stay at least 100 yards from her for five years.

Neither Richards nor Phypers have addressed the infidelity allegations that have been part of the ongoing disputes. The case remains unresolved while the court proceedings continue.
