Illinois Governor Warns of Potential Military Interference in Voting

Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois has expressed concerns over recent plans by the federal government, specifically the deployment of Texas National Guard troops into Chicago. He fears this could be a pretext for political interference, especially around elections.

During an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Pritzker discussed his apprehensions about how the situation might escalate. When asked about the direction this could take, he warned:

“Next year, I fear that they’ll eventually deploy these forces to polling locations and claim they’re protecting the vote.”

Pritzker also highlighted fears that former President Donald Trump might use military force to challenge the electoral process. He suggested that Trump could use the military to seize ballot boxes and claim election fraud, especially if he perceives he is losing the vote count.
