E-Bike Crash Claims Woman’s Life Near Brooklyn Navy Yard
Woman Killed in Brooklyn E-Bike Collision
A woman in her sixties lost her life after being struck by an e-bike while attempting to cross a Brooklyn street Monday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. near the intersection of Flushing Avenue and North Elliot Place, close to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. She had just exited a bus and was walking north across the bike lane when the e-bike collided with her.
Emergency services transported her to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities reported that a 39-year-old man operating the e-bike and a 41-year-old male passenger were also taken to the hospital. Both are in stable condition.
The crash site is notable for part of the bike lane sharing space with the sidewalk, creating potential hazards for pedestrians and cyclists alike.
As of now, the e-bike driver has not been detained, and the woman’s identity has not been disclosed.
