Jack Ciattarelli Secures Key Endorsements in Democratic Heart of New Jersey
Endorsements Signal Shifting Dynamics in New Jersey Governor Race
Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli gained significant support this weekend by securing endorsements from key local officials in Hudson County, a traditionally Democratic area. North Bergen Commissioner Allen Pascual and West New York Commissioner Marcos Arroyo publicly backed Ciattarelli, highlighting a growing bipartisanship momentum.
Ciattarelli expressed confidence, stating, “When Democrats are supporting us, it indicates real change is on the horizon. This isn’t about party lines—it’s about improving New Jersey. I am the candidate with a concrete plan to achieve this.”
The endorsements come amid rumors that former Hudson County Democratic Chairman Anthony Vainieri Jr. might soon endorse Ciattarelli, further strengthening his position in the demographic stronghold.
Hudson County, home to major cities like Jersey City and Hoboken, remains one of the most Democratic regions in the state. Notably, voter turnout in the last election dropped significantly, which, despite President Trump’s defeat with 62.3%, resulted in closer margins in statewide races and raised concerns among Democrats about electoral dynamics.
Ciattarelli has actively campaigned in the area, emphasizing his understanding of working families and small businesses, as well as his support for law enforcement and community leadership rooted in integrity and common sense.
Meanwhile, political tensions persist within the local Democratic circles, with some factions split over whether to support Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop or Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill for governor. Despite these internal divisions, polls indicate a tightening race between Ciattarelli and Sherrill, with Sherrill holding a narrow 3.3-point lead as the election approaches.
This narrowing margin has raised alarms among national Democrats, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the upcoming election in New Jersey.
