Ozzy Osbourne Hospitals After Failed Neck Surgery

Ozzy Osbourne’s Mental Health Struggles and Final Days

Ozzy Osbourne revealed that he once contemplated suicide due to the severe pain and complications following a neck surgery. In a forthcoming documentary, he shared, “The thought of not performing anymore deeply depressed me,” and admitted to being on antidepressants at the time. Despite these dark moments, he humorously noted that his fear of failing at the act prevented him from going through with it.

The legendary musician, who passed away at age 76, underwent multiple surgeries on his neck and spine after a fall in 2019, which compounded injuries from a devastating ATV accident in 2003. His wife Sharon explained that the surgery was overly aggressive, involving screws and metal plates that caused additional damage. She added that subsequent attempts to repair the damage were unsuccessful, with the main injury already inflicted.

Ozzy’s son Jack highlighted that the nerve damage from the surgeries significantly impaired his father’s mobility. Sharon also revealed that Ozzy’s health further declined due to Parkinson’s disease, diagnosed in 2020, which was worsened by the surgical complications.

Ozzy’s daughter Kelly addressed persistent rumors about a supposed suicide pact between her parents, dismissing them as false, and emphasizing that her father is not dying. Sharon previously expressed her own dark thoughts about euthanasia and her and Ozzy’s plans should they develop serious illnesses, including Alzheimer’s.

The “Prince of Darkness” died in July, shortly after his band Black Sabbath’s farewell concert. His passing was marked by a family statement requesting privacy and describing him as being surrounded by loved ones during his final moments.

Scheduled to premiere on October 7, the documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now” delves into his struggles with health and mental health, highlighting the enduring impact of his career and personal battles.
