Kelce Snubbed at the Golden Globes!
First-Ever Golden Globes Podcast Award Highlights Conservative Voices
The Golden Globes has introduced its first category recognizing outstanding podcasts. Notably, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce’s show, New Heights, was excluded from the short list of 25 eligible podcasts announced recently.
The chosen pool of contenders was predominantly filled with conservative commentators such as Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly, Ben Shapiro, Theo Von, and Candace Owens, who has recently faced controversy over her views and a fallout with activist Charlie Kirk.
Meanwhile, mainstream Hollywood names like Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Dax Shepard, along with popular shows including Call Her Daddy and Pod Save America, are part of the promising list. By December 8, six finalists will be selected from these 25 contenders.
Many question whether liberal voters within Hollywood will support figures like Carlson and Rogan, and what acceptance speeches might reveal. Some critics, including Kelly and Carlson, have previously voiced strong opinions about Hollywood’s disconnect from American cultural and political realities. Kelly notably called a Globes-nominated film “Conclave” disgusting, while Carlson has criticized Hollywood’s liberalism and alleged ignorance of mainstream America.
He also remarked that Hollywood is losing touch, stating, “Hollywood is going out of business because they don’t understand the country… They’re completely out of touch because they’re rich and entitled.”
