Kathryn Dennis Sentenced to Jail for DUI Conviction
Kathryn Dennis, known from the reality series Southern Charm, was convicted and handed a 30-day jail sentence after a DUI arrest. She was detained following an incident involving a three-vehicle collision at an intersection.
Officers at the scene noted her eyes appeared “glossy,” and witnesses reported that she might have been impaired, with alcohol smell detected on her. Video footage later obtained shows Dennis arguing with police officers during and after field sobriety tests. She was handcuffed and questioned about her actions, claiming she “didn’t deserve” to be arrested and expressing frustration at being detained.
The arrest occurred in South Carolina, with Dennis booked for driving under the influence and operating with an open container. She also told officers she was “not stupid” when asked to take a blood alcohol test, and expressed her disdain for the situation, saying, “This is some bulls—t.” During the encounter, she cried and mentioned her children, highlighting her role as a mother to a daughter and son.
In footage released by TMZ, Dennis can be seen arguing with police and claiming she “didn’t deserve” to be arrested after the three-car incident. During the arrest, she also expressed concerns about the impact on her children and pleaded for her dog, who was with her at the scene.
Throughout the incident, Dennis appeared emotional, crying and speaking about her children. She has been open about her struggles with substance abuse, including past rehab stays and previous instances of alcohol consumption. The 34-year-old star has known challenges with alcohol, revealing in a past reunion that she was not fully sober.
