Kathryn Dennis from ‘Southern Charm’ Convicted and Sentenced for DUI
Kathryn Dennis Sentenced to Jail for DUI Conviction
“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis has been convicted of driving under the influence and received a 30-day jail sentence.
She was detained last Friday evening in South Carolina, according to inmate records from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. Her arrest stemmed from an incident involving a three-vehicle collision at an intersection on May 20, 2024.
Witnesses at the scene reported that Dennis appeared impaired, noting the smell of alcohol and observing her eyes as “glossy,” leading to her being booked for DUI and for possessing an open container.
Video footage obtained shows Dennis arguing with police officers during and after a sobriety test. She told officers she “didn’t deserve” to be taken into custody, and at one point, she stated she “didn’t give a f—k” about the outcome, asserting her belief that she had not committed a serious offense.
During the arrest, Dennis mentioned her two children, crying as she asked for her dog, highlighting her ongoing struggles with substance abuse, which she has previously been open about. She has attended rehab in Malibu and has publicly discussed her battles with alcohol, including prior incidents like a hit-and-run in 2023 and admitting she is not fully sober as recently as 2019.
In the footage, she also vowed that she would “f—king ruin” the officers after her release. Her arrest has reignited conversations about her personal challenges and past struggles with addiction.
