Masked Gunman Opens Fire on NYC Street in Broad Daylight
Daylight Shooting in the Bronx Leaves Two Injured
A violent incident was captured on video when a masked gunman opened fire in a Bronx neighborhood, injuring a man and grazing a woman in broad daylight.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect, dressed head-to-toe in black and wearing a ski mask, rushing across a Belmont street with a firearm just before 6 p.m., firing multiple shots. The shooter aimed at a 36-year-old man, hitting him twice in the leg and once in the hip, and grazed a 35-year-old woman on her leg. Both victims were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and were in stable condition.
The gunman, after discharging his weapon, continued firing as he fled eastward along 187th Street, causing panic among bystanders who hurried into nearby apartments. Police recovered 11 shell casings at the scene.
Authorities describe the suspect as a male wearing a black hoodie. No arrests have been made, and the motive remains unclear. It is also unknown whether the victims knew the shooter.
The investigation is ongoing as detectives gather evidence and review footage to determine the circumstances leading to this reckless shooting.
