11-Year-Old Girl Acts as Shield During Violent Rampage, Gets Stabbed

Girl, 11, Injured in Stabbing After Protecting Mother from Attacker

An 11-year-old girl was stabbed while shielding her mother from her estranged husband, who barged into their Pennsylvania home during a violent incident, authorities reported.

The suspect, Richard Cody Hall, allegedly broke into the residence in Redstone Township despite a protection order, confronting his wife and children. He reportedly assaulted his wife and young daughter before turning the weapon on himself and attacking her parents.

Neighbors heard a car speeding prior to hearing the sound of a door being forced open and screams. The mother, who had recently moved back into her parents’ house with her children, tried to prevent her ex-husband from entering. Court records show Hall, 33, attempted to speak with her, but she refused entry. He then shattered a window door and attacked her with a knife.
