William Shatner Hospitalized After Medical Emergency
The legendary actor experienced a health scare at home in Los Angeles when he encountered issues related to his blood sugar levels. Fearing for his health, he called emergency services as a precaution.
An ambulance from the Los Angeles Fire Department took the 94-year-old to a nearby hospital. According to reports, Shatner is now feeling well and resting comfortably.
The actor, best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk, has previously been open about his health battles. Last year, he revealed he was a survivor of stage 4 melanoma, having beaten the disease despite a grim prognosis. Additionally, he previously received a prostate cancer diagnosis in 2016, which turned out to be a false alarm. Shatner once told a news outlet that a doctor had told him he had only about five months to live, which was a sobering experience.
Despite these health challenges, Shatner has maintained an active career, including a recent role in a 2024 short film. He continues to appear publicly at conventions and events, including Dragon Con and a scheduled appearance in the Galapagos Islands in November.
The actor has been married four times and is father to three daughters: Leslie, Lisabeth, and Melanie. His latest divorce was finalized in 2020, though he and his wife reconciled amid the pandemic.
