Guatemalan Predator Arrested in New Orleans Raid — Viral Photo

Small-Statured Fugitive Arrested in New Orleans

A short-statured individual from Guatemala was recently apprehended by Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) officers in New Orleans. The arrest photo of Cristian Soto-Galeano, who is visibly smiling and in handcuffs, quickly gained attention online due to the striking height difference between him and the officer standing nearby.

Soto-Galeano, who appears to be roughly waist-high compared to the officer, has a criminal record that includes a conviction for indecent behavior with a minor, according to ICE. He was sentenced to two years in prison and is expected to be deported after serving his sentence.

ICE’s local office shared a caption along with the viral image, stating, “ICE New Orleans arrested Cristian Soto-Galeano, a citizen of Guatemala. His criminal history includes a conviction for indecent behavior with a juvenile and a two-year incarceration.”

While it’s unclear whether Soto-Galeano was living in the country illegally, authorities plan to deport him following his incarceration. The incident sparked online jokes about his small stature, with one commenter remarking, “No need for a plane seat, just deport him in a suitcase.”

Guatemala’s average male height is around 5 feet 4 inches, but Soto-Galeano appears to be much shorter than that. This case is reminiscent of a recent viral photo from San Diego, where an illegal migrant wearing a “South Park” T-shirt drew attention for his unusual appearance and the way the photo was taken.
