Champions League & Premier League Legend Stars in Birmingham City Charity Match

Football and Entertainment Stars to Play Charity Match in Birmingham to Support Homeless Children

In October, a star-studded charity football match will take place at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s Stadium, featuring icons from football and entertainment aiming to improve the lives of homeless children.

Among the participants is Clarence Seedorf, a four-time Champions League winner, and Jens Lehmann, an Arsenal ‘Invincible’. They will be joined by former football stars including Gael Clichy, Rachel Yankey, Des Walker, Mark Noble, and Louis Saha. Additionally, actors such as Packy Lee from Peaky Blinders and Love Island personality Adam Collard will also take part.

The event, named Game4theChildren, is set for October 11 and will be broadcast globally. Funds raised will support homeless charities like Shelter and the Birmingham City Foundation, which work to improve conditions for vulnerable children.

Highlighting a Critical Issue

Recent government data reveals nearly 170,000 children in England are currently homeless or living in temporary housing, a number expected to rise to over 200,000 by 2029 without immediate action.

The initiative is organized by Legends, a sports charity known for similar events supporting causes like Grenfell, Ukraine, and Sir Bobby Robson’s foundation. Birmingham City, owned by American investors Knightshead and minority owner Tom Brady, hopes the event will help channel resources into Birmingham’s most deprived communities.

Seedorf expressed his dedication to using sport for social good, stating, “Sport can foster an inclusive and peaceful society. Initiatives like this are vital, and I am proud to contribute.”
