College Cheerleader Arrested in Infant’s Death in Kentucky

Authorities continue to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a newborn whose body was discovered in a trash bag inside a university dorm room. The baby, a male, was found after the mother, 21-year-old Laken Snelling and a member of the University of Kentucky’s stunt team, was detained. Snelling appeared in court wearing a red dress and makeup, accompanied by her father. She pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including concealing a birth, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. She was released on a $100,000 bond and ordered to stay under home detention with her parents. Her next court appearance is scheduled for September 26.
