Georgia Dentist James Choi Kills Wife and Daughter in St. Ives Mansion
Tragic Family Loss in Johns Creek
A tragic incident has resulted in the deaths of a local family in Johns Creek, an Atlanta suburb. Authorities discovered the bodies of Dr. James Choi, his wife Myoung, and their 15-year-old daughter Grace inside their upscale home during a welfare check.
The scene, located within the gated St Ives Country Club community, was uncovered shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday. Police have not released details regarding the causes of death, citing ongoing investigations and respect for the family’s privacy.
James Choi, a South Korean-born dentist, had most recently practiced at Highland Dental in Suwanee, GA. His professional bio indicated his focus on patient care and treating clients like family. When not working, he enjoyed golf and spending time with his wife and daughter.
The community is mourning the loss of Grace, who was a bright student and talented violinist. She performed at Carnegie Hall earlier this year with the True North Symphony. Her school, Mount Pisgah Christian School, described her as a beloved member of their community and expressed deep sorrow over her passing.
Flowers and condolence packages were left at the family’s $1.75 million home, a property built in 1996 with six bedrooms, last sold for $860,000 in 2016. The neighborhood offers amenities such as an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, a resort-style pool, and dining options.
This devastating event underscores the importance of mental health awareness. Resources are available for those struggling with thoughts of self-harm or crisis, including a hotline in New York City and the national Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
