Liverpool’s £125m Isak Post: Can You Spot the Blunder? | Daily Mail

Liverpool’s Announcement Error in £125m Alexander Isak Transfer

Liverpool officially announced the signing of Alexander Isak for a club-record fee of £125 million, marking a significant transfer from Newcastle United. Isak, 25, completed his medical and was photographed at the AXA Training Centre before heading to join his international colleagues.

However, the club’s promotional graphic contained a notable mistake. It listed Isak’s position as “postion” instead of “position,” leading to widespread mockery on social media. Fans questioned whether it was a spelling error or an intended joke, with some joking about Swedish language or autocorrect fail.

Another error in the graphic claimed Isak left Norwegian club AIK in 2016, but he actually played there during the 2016-17 season before transferring to Borussia Dortmund. Fans pointed out this mistake as well, highlighting the oversight.

In his first comments at Liverpool, Isak expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s been a long journey to get here. I’m thrilled to be part of this team and proud of what this club represents.”

While Liverpool celebrated his arrival with a lively video and a positive statement, Newcastle’s announcement was surprisingly brief. It simply confirmed the sale for a record fee, mentioning his appearances—totaling 109 across competitions—without any additional praise or tribute.

Isak’s signing is also notable for breaking the previous British transfer record, surpassing the £116 million paid by Liverpool earlier this summer for Florian Wirtz, and equaling the £125 million spent by Chelsea for Moises Caicedo two years ago.
