The actor and former wrestler made a noticeable change to his physique as he attended the Venice Film Festival to promote his latest film, “The Smashing Machine,” where he portrays UFC champion Mark Kerr.

During the event, Johnson, dressed in a light blue shirt and black trousers, beamed as he showcased his significantly leaner frame. Fans noticed his transformation and took to social media to discuss his new appearance.

Social media users highlighted the drastic weight loss, with some joking about his smaller size: “The Rock has turned into a pebble,” one remarked. Others questioned if it was a digital alteration: “Looks like AI to me,” another commented. A few expressed concern over his health, fearing that such a thin appearance might indicate sickness.

Some fans doubted the authenticity of his weight loss, noting that Johnson had been very muscular just months prior and believed the change might be too rapid to be natural. Despite the speculation, Johnson recently confirmed that his impressive transformation was intentional, driven by a desire to challenge himself artistically.

He explained that he was eager to push his physical limits for a role directed by Benny Safdie. “This transformation was something I was really hungry to do,” Johnson shared. He reflected on his career, noting a personal voice urging him to pursue greater heights and new challenges.

Johnson has previously spoken about health struggles, including gut-related issues he revealed in June, which he has been managing since early 2024. Despite these health challenges, he continued with multiple commitments, including WWE appearances and filming projects.
