Successful Launch of 28 Starlink Satellites Supports Global Internet Coverage
SpaceX has announced the deployment of 28 new Starlink satellites, enhancing its satellite internet network. The launch took place from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida using a Falcon 9 rocket. The mission lifted off at 7:49 a.m. EDT and lasted just over an hour, reaching low Earth orbit.
The Falcon 9’s first stage, Booster 1077, executed its 23rd flight successfully and was recovered on the drone ship “Just Read the Instructions” in the Atlantic Ocean.
With this latest deployment, the Starlink constellation now consists of over 8,280 active satellites out of more than 9,575 launched since 2019, according to tracker Jonathan McDowell.
This mission marks SpaceX’s 112th launch of 2025, primarily utilizing Falcon 9 rockets, with the remaining launches being suborbital test flights of Starship.
