Harper Moyski, 10, Identified as Second Victim in Minneapolis School Shooting

Two Victims Identified in Minneapolis Church Shooting

A 10-year-old girl has been named as the second victim killed during a mass shooting at a Minneapolis church. Her parents described Harper Moyski as a bright, joyful child who was deeply loved. She was shot inside Annunciation Church and School during a welcome Mass for the new school year.

The family issued a heartfelt statement, mourning their daughter and urging lawmakers to take action against gun violence. They expressed heartbreak over Harper’s death and the pain her sister now faces, emphasizing that no family should endure such tragedy. “While our immediate focus is on Harper’s memory and healing, we hope her story inspires change to prevent others from suffering,” the family said.

Harper was the second victim identified in the attack; the first was 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel. Both children were shot while sitting in the pews, and others nearby rushed for cover. The shooter, Robin Westman, fired approximately 116 rounds indiscriminately through a stained glass window, attempting to fire a handgun that malfunctioned before turning the gun on himself.

According to authorities, Westman also targeted children at the school, firing at least 116 rounds and deliberately aiming to watch them suffer. The attack resulted in eighteen injuries, with one child still in critical condition.

Investigators are examining evidence from three residences linked to Westman, including electronic devices and his YouTube channel, which contained videos and a manifesto filled with disturbing content. Westman, who had ties to the church as a former employee, turned the gun on himself before law enforcement could reach him.

Police have tried to contact Westman’s mother, Mary Grace Westman, who previously worked at the church and school. The community remains in shock as officials continue their investigation into the motives behind this tragic violence.
