UEFA Champions League 2025-26 Teams Revealed: 6 Premier League Clubs Included

Full List of UEFA Champions League Teams for 2025-26 Season

The draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage is taking place, revealing the participating teams for the upcoming season. Six Premier League clubs will be competing: Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Notably absent are Celtic and Rangers, who both faced early eliminations in the qualifying rounds. Rangers were defeated 6-0 on aggregate by Belgian side Club Brugge, while Celtic were eliminated after a penalty shootout against Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan.

Managerial changes also mean José Mourinho will not be managing in this year’s competition, as his Fenerbahçe team lost 1-0 to Benfica in a recent match.

The 2025-26 tournament features a new format, with 36 teams competing in a single league table rather than traditional groups. Each team will face eight opponents, with seedings based on their performance over the past five seasons of UEFA results. Matches will commence on September 16 and conclude on January 28, 2026. The top eight teams will secure direct entry into the round of 16, while teams ranked ninth to 24th will compete in knockout playoffs in February. The final match is scheduled for May 30 at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, just before the 2026 World Cup in Mexico City.

New entries in the competition include Bodo/Glimt from Norway, Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan, Pafos FC from Cyprus, and Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium. The tournament will also see a return of Athletic Bilbao, who last participated in the 2014-15 group stage.
