Teen Killed in Apparent Fight Over Girl in South Carolina

Family members and friends are blaming the victim’s 17-year-old girlfriend for orchestrating a setup that led to his death during a violent encounter. Trey Wright, 16, was shot and killed after allegedly being lured into an ambush.

Wright’s mother shared that her son had been happily dating Gianna Kistenmacher, whom he described as feeling like a “dream come true” just days before his death. She was seen as a dominant figure among peers and accused of starting a fight that Wright believed would be a fistfight, unaware of the deadly plan surrounding him.

According to reports, Wright was heading to meet with Kistenmacher and another individual, Devin Raper, with the expectation of a physical confrontation. However, friends reported that Kistenmacher, daughter of a local police officer, had ignited an argument with Wright hours earlier, accusing Raper of cheating on her.

Witnesses say during a FaceTime call, Raper pointed a firearm at Kistenmacher’s phone as a warning directed at Wright. This occurred amid rising tensions over rumors of infidelity.

Despite the threats, both Kistenmacher and Wright believed their meeting would be a simple fight. One friend stated that Raper, who was in the vehicle with Kistenmacher, shot Wright multiple times once face to face.

Witnesses confirmed that Raper, along with others, left Wright to bleed out alone. A total of ten teens have been charged, with Raper facing murder and weapons charges and being held without bond. Kistenmacher was released into her family’s custody with charges of accessory to a felony.

The victim’s mother expressed shock that a dispute among teens over a girl could escalate into deadly violence, lamenting how far society has fallen from non-violent conflict resolutions.
