Nottingham Forest’s £30.2m Bid for Ligue 1 Winger Rejected Amid Premier League Competition
Nottingham Forest’s Bid for Strasbourg Winger Rejected Amidst Competition from Premier League Clubs
Nottingham Forest’s attempt to acquire Strasbourg’s 22-year-old winger, Dilane Bakwa, has been turned down after their £30.2 million offer was rejected. Despite this setback, Forest remains keen on landing the France Under-21 international, with ongoing negotiations aiming to bridge the gap before their rivals.
Several other Premier League teams, including Leeds United and Sunderland, have shown interest in Bakwa. Strasbourg has set a valuation of £35 million plus additional bonuses, indicating their firm stance in the transfer negotiations.
Meanwhile, Leeds United has announced the signing of defender James Justin from Leicester City on a four-year contract. The deal reportedly involves an initial fee of £8 million, potentially rising to £10 million with add-ons. Justin, 27, recently captained Leicester in their first two Championship matches but was sidelined due to an injury. He had also attracted interest from Everton.
Despite the setback in their bid for Bakwa, Nottingham Forest continues to pursue the player as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.
