Jeff Bezos Honored by Lauren Sanchez at Mom’s Funeral
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Attend His Mother’s Funeral
Lauren Sánchez held her new husband’s hand as they arrived at the funeral service for Jeff Bezos’ mother, Jacklyn, in West Miami. The couple, supporting each other, stepped out of an SUV and entered the private memorial service at Caballero Rivero Westchester funeral home, dressed somberly and wearing sunglasses.
Sánchez, 55, appeared elegant in a dark blue blazer, a long black skirt, and an elaborate updo, while Jeff Bezos was dressed in a traditional black suit. Both maintained low profiles, with subdued expressions, as they arrived for the service.
Jacklyn Bezos, who helped Jeff launch Amazon with an investment of nearly $250,000 in 1995 and was married to Jeff’s stepfather, Miguel Bezos, in 1968, passed away on August 14 after a prolonged battle with Lewy Body Dementia at age 78. Jeff shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, acknowledging her fierce love and the significant role she played in his life, expressing gratitude for her love and strength through her final moments.
Jeff recalled how his mother was there for her children, grandchildren, and her husband, constantly expanding her circle of love. He concluded his tribute with a photo of her obituary and a picture of his mother with her stepfather, reflecting on her lasting influence and their close bond.
The funeral service was held at the same Miami funeral home where Jeff’s mother was honored while wearing discreet, dark sunglasses. Jeff’s wife, Sánchez, also shared on her Instagram Stories a tribute to Jacklyn, including a broken heart emoji, indicating her own grief.
Jeff had married Sánchez just two months prior, during a lavish multi-day wedding celebration in Venice, Italy, attended by celebrities such as Tom Brady, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Oprah Winfrey.
