Chris Martin Teases Astronomer CEO Kiss Cam Scandal at Coldplay Concert

Coldplay Lead Singer Reacts to Fan Proposal at Wembley

During a recent concert at Wembley Stadium, frontman Chris Martin responded humorously when a fan held up a sign requesting to propose during the show. Martin playfully said, “I need to do some basic security checks first,” as he engaged with the fan’s request.

He then asked the audience, “Is this person your partner? Yes? No one else’s partner?” and continued with a cheeky line, inquiring, “Are you cousins or siblings or anything weird like that? … Are you AI? Are you real people?” After confirming the couple’s relationship, he jokingly added, “I think we can continue.”

Martin’s lighthearted comments come months after a viral incident where a couple was caught seemingly cheating on their spouses via the Jumbotron during a Coldplay concert in Boston. Their attempt to hide from cameras led to widespread memes and media attention. The band responded by hiring actress Gwyneth Paltrow, Martin’s ex-wife, as a temporary spokesperson for an advertisement.

Additionally, a photo circulated of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his former head of HR, Kristin Cabot, seen canoodling on the kiss cam in July before quickly retreating from view. Martin humorously speculated whether they were having an affair or simply shy, adding, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Following the proposal incident, social media users chimed in, with one remarking, “Poor Chris is traumatized lol,” and another stating, “Poor Chris 😂 he’s gotta clear his audience now.” Despite the ongoing scandals, Martin continues to feature fans on the Jumbotron and remains upbeat. In a recent show, he said, “Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we’re going to meet some of you.”
