Grace Kelley, Wynonna Judd’s Daughter, Opens Up About Sobriety After Troubles
Grace Kelley Makes Personal Transformation After Troubled Past
The daughter of country star Wynonna Judd, Grace Kelley, has recently spoken about her journey toward sobriety and redemption following a series of legal issues.
In 2024, Kelley was involved in multiple incidents, including an arrest for exposing herself on a highway in Alabama and an attempted escape from the police. Earlier, she faced charges for stealing a pastor’s van in Virginia, which she attributed to hallucinating after using dangerous drugs. Kelley recounted that she mistakenly entered the pastor’s trailer, passed out, and was driven to the pastor’s residence, which caused her to become paranoid and desperate to escape.
Her legal troubles resulted in felony grand larceny charges and other convictions, leading to six weeks of jail time. Her life changed when the pastor and his wife, instead of pursuing punitive measures, invited her to their church. Kelley credits this act of kindness and her subsequent religious awakening with helping her turn her life around. She expressed deep gratitude for her newfound faith, which she says has brought her peace and clarity.
Since her transformation, Kelley has been open about her childhood trauma, including allegations of sexual abuse by her stepfather and her mother’s alleged efforts to cover it up. She has also spoken about her mother’s past, describing her as a performer rather than a nurturing caregiver, and claimed that her mother’s wealth allowed her to suppress the truth about her own abuse.
Today, Kelley feels hopeful about her future. She recently shared, “I’ve been looking for home for a long time and I think I found it.” Wynonna Judd, now raising Kelley’s two-year-old child, has mentioned her commitment to supporting her daughter’s recovery and stability.
