Dog Named Dallas Cheddar Rescued After Days Stuck in Cheese Ball Bucket: Video

Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania After Getting a Cheese Bucket Stuck on Her Head

A stray dog in Pennsylvania was saved after being found with a cheese bucket securely stuck over her head. The rescue effort involved a team of volunteers, including a drone operator whose quick thinking helped locate her.

The malnourished dog evaded rescue teams for days, navigating her environment with limited sight through the plastic container. Despite numerous attempts by a local rescue organization and thermal drones, she managed to stay out of reach until she was finally spotted in a cornfield during early morning hours.

She was ultimately cornered in a cornfield and rescued by a local animal shelter.

Working alongside the Find Toby organization—dedicated to locating missing dogs—and Nighthawk Drone Services, which provides aerial reconnaissance, rescuers tracked her across the rural landscape. The drone’s camera captured the dog, eventually leading to her rescue in the early hours of Wednesday.

The dog appeared subdued but calm when a rescuer managed to attach a leash. She was visibly disoriented, turning her head to assess her surroundings through the jar. She was then taken to an emergency vet for treatment.

The veterinarian confirmed the dog was severely emaciated and infested with ticks. She had gone at least three days without food or water due to the jug, and additional blood tests were ordered to ensure no underlying health issues.

Her rescuers celebrated the life saved, emphasizing the power of community effort. Although Dallas Cheddar isn’t available for adoption yet, she is expected to recover and find a new home soon.

Similar incidents aren’t unique—another dog in Michigan was found with his head stuck in a cheese ball jar in 2023. That dog was named Cheeto, with some suggesting the name Jughead, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance and rescue efforts.
