AC Milan Targets Rasmus Hojlund for Loan Transfer with Potential Buy Option

AC Milan is set to pursue a renewed bid to acquire Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, with reports suggesting the Italian club is confident of completing the deal within the week. The Serie A side is reportedly considering offering a season-long loan worth around £4 million, which could include an option or obligation to buy, depending on Hojlund’s performance.

Hojlund was excluded from Manchester United’s squad for their season opener against Arsenal, watching from the stands as his team suffered a 1-0 defeat. This absence signals that the Danish forward’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain, especially with the club having recently signed Benjamin Sesko for £73.7 million, indicating a shift in their attacking options.

Earlier this month, reports revealed that Manchester United was willing to sell Hojlund for approximately £30 million. Italian outlets suggest that AC Milan plans to propose a deal involving an obligation to purchase Hojlund for around £35 million, contingent on meeting specific performance goals during the season. The ongoing negotiations aim to satisfy both clubs’ interests: Milan’s need for reinforcements and United’s desire for a profitable sale.

Hojlund has expressed his willingness to leave Manchester United for regular playing time, focusing on rebuilding his career. Despite interest from Fulham, Atalanta, and Napoli, the player seems open to a permanent move if the conditions align. The 22-year-old, who scored 26 goals in 95 appearances since joining from Atalanta in 2023, remains determined.

He previously stated his readiness to compete for a starting spot, emphasizing his age and experience: “I’m only 22, and I’ve learned a lot. I’m feeling sharp and ready for whatever comes,” Hojlund said after a pre-season match.
