Influencer Ariela La Langosta Passes Away at 33
Social media personality Ariela La Langosta, known for her appearance in rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s music video in 2023, has died at the age of 33.
The Westchester County Police in New York confirmed that Ariela, whose real name is Ariela Mejia-Polanco, was found dead in her vehicle on August 17 along the Cross County Parkway. An initial investigation revealed she suffered gunshot wounds and was likely targeted for violence.
The police confirmed that her death was not a random act and is currently under investigation by detectives, with assistance from various law enforcement agencies. Due to the ongoing inquiry, details remain undisclosed.
Ariela amassed over 566,000 followers on Instagram where she shared fashion and modeling content regularly.
Tekashi 6ix9ine paid tribute to Ariela by posting videos on his social media, calling her a “tremendous woman” and the “queen of New York.” He expressed his affection, saying, “You supported me in everything,” and shared a snippet of their favorite song. He also wrote messages in Spanish, “Yo te amei” (“I loved you”) and “Mi nena” (“My girl”).
Her workplace, Ikon New York in Inwood, expressed profound sorrow and announced they would temporarily close their doors in her honor. The establishment described her as a “brilliant, humble soul” whose positive energy touched everyone around her. They added, “She will be deeply missed by all of us. Please cherish your loved ones.”
