Teen Surrenders in Baltimore Teen’s Murder Case

A tenth teenage suspect in the murder of a 16-year-old boy is expected to turn himself in to authorities soon. The incident, which took place in Florence County, involved a gang of teens who orchestrated a deadly ambush, recording the shooting as it happened.

In June, Trey Dean Wright was lured to a secluded rural area and fatally shot. His girlfriend allegedly played a role in setting up the plot, bringing him to the remote location where multiple teens awaited. Witnesses say one of the teens captured the confrontation on video as the suspects exchanged words with Wright, culminating in gunfire.

The suspected shooter, 19-year-old Devan Scott Raper, was arrested the day after Wright’s body was discovered. He faces charges of homicide and weapons possession. Wright’s 17-year-old girlfriend, Gianna Kistenmacher, is charged with accessory before the fact, with authorities alleging she knew Raper was armed and intentionally instigated the altercation.

Several other teens, including 18-year-olds Hunter Kendall and Corrine Belviso, and 17-year-old Sydney Kearns, have been charged with various offenses related to the incident. The identities of other minors involved have not been disclosed.

Trey Dean Wright, 16, was found dead on a rural road. Multiple arrests have been made in connection with his killing.

Authorities state that the decision to charge so many teens was carefully considered, with investigators and prosecutors aiming to hold all involved accountable under South Carolina law. Kistenmacher was released on bond, placed under home confinement, shortly after her arrest.
