Predictor Season Opener Results: Who Leading the Pack?

The Predictor competition’s first round has concluded following Manchester United’s narrow 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Old Trafford. Despite their dominance, United’s goalkeeper Altay Bayindir made a costly mistake, which Riccardo Calafiori capitalized on, contributing to Arsenal’s victory.

Several participants predicted the outcomes accurately, with 15 players correctly forecasting all seven matches and earning the maximum points. Notably, one player, spevick, uniquely predicted the timing of the first goal at 13 minutes, which came at Old Trafford, distinguishing them from the rest.

In the official Predictor league, football analyst Nathan Salt achieved the highest score with five correct predictions, closely matching Calafiori’s 13th-minute goal timing. Football expert Tom Collomosse also made strong predictions, correctly guessing four results, although Aston Villa, Brentford, and Manchester United unexpectedly did not align with his forecasts.

Saturday’s season opener included several key matches: Newcastle’s goalless draw at Aston Villa, Sunderland’s 3-0 win over West Ham, Tottenham’s 3-0 victory against Burnley, and Manchester City’s commanding 4-0 win against Wolves. Nottingham Forest secured a 3-1 victory over Brentford, while Crystal Palace held Chelsea to a draw at Stamford Bridge.
