Mother’s Heartfelt Goodbye to Son Off to College

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber shared touching moments as they said goodbye to their son, Sasha, before he began his college journey.

Naomi Watts, 56, posted a photo on her Instagram Stories showing her embracing Sasha on a sidewalk, holding his waist while he leaned into her. The scene included his luggage and a small dog perched on top of his bags.

Sasha, dressed in a white T-shirt, baggy blue jeans, and a chain, looked at the camera, wrapping his arm around his mother, who appeared chic in an oversized beige blazer, a white shirt, and wide-leg jeans.

Watts captioned the photo with “Step #1” and an emotional “Already bawling 😭😭😭,” tagging her son. She revealed her feelings about the milestone, sharing her countdown to college.

In a sweet moment, Naomi uploaded another image of Sasha hugging his sister, Kai, who is 16 years old. Sasha wore a gray sweater with headphones, while Kai wore a black tank top and white shorts, with her back to the camera.

Liev Schreiber reflected on the occasion, admitting feeling the emotional pull of seeing his son grow up. He praised Sasha as “one of the deepest, kindest, bravest, and most beautiful boys” he has known, sharing his sentiments on Instagram about his departure for the University of Southern California.

Sasha graduated in June and is now moving to Los Angeles to begin his freshman year at USC. His parents, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, separated in 2016 after over a decade together. Watts married Billy Crudup in 2023, while Schreiber is married to Taylor Neisen, with whom he shares a daughter.
