Catherine Zeta-Jones Says Owning 4 Homes Is ‘Not Excessive’

Catherine Zeta-Jones on Her Multiple Homes and Love of Fashion

At 55, Catherine Zeta-Jones recently shared her perspective on owning four properties, stating she doesn’t view it as excessive. She and her husband, Michael Douglas, have two homes in New York, a property in Canada, and one in Spain. She described their collection as “very comfortable” rather than jet-setter excess, emphasizing her desire for a life surrounded by beauty and comfort.

Her passion for fashion is evident in her shopping habits, such as visiting vintage stores in Paris and collecting unique pieces like evening dresses and Yves Saint Laurent items. She enjoys splurging on couture, appreciating the craftsmanship and artistry involved, even if she considers everyday items like jeans or T-shirts as standard.

She also passed her love for fashion onto her daughter, Carys, revealing her daughter’s fascination with her extensive closet and Fendi Baguette bags, some of which retail for up to $11,500.

Zeta-Jones joked about keeping her and Douglas’s Oscars separate: hers is in their country house, and his is in their apartment, joking that it’s a precaution to avoid any misunderstandings. The couple, married since 2000 and proud parents of Carys and son Dylan, also enjoy relaxing activities like golf. Douglas has hinted at retiring from acting, preferring to spend more time on the golf course, but Zeta-Jones remains open to future projects, describing retirement as “a flexible concept.”
