Trump’s Deal With Putin That Only An Idiot Would Accept

Leak Suggests Trump Negotiated Deal with Putin to Cede Parts of Ukraine

Evidence indicates that, despite official denials, Trump may have struck a covert agreement with Vladimir Putin that would allow Russia to retain control over parts of Ukraine. While this deal appears to reward Russian aggression, it may also present further risks.

According to a recent statement from Trump’s former special envoy, Steve Witkoff, the U.S. negotiated a security arrangement that would resemble NATO’s Article Five—a mutual defense guarantee—without explicitly stating it. Witkoff explained that the U.S. and European allies discussed providing assurances to Ukraine, contingent on Ukraine’s willingness to accept terms that could potentially exclude NATO membership.

He revealed that a significant concession was made: the U.S. could offer protection akin to Article Five, despite Russia’s objections. This development marked the first acknowledgment that Russia had agreed—at least on paper—to such security guarantees.

However, the arrangement raises concerns. If Ukraine agrees to these terms, its security would effectively depend on Trump, who has a reputation for unpredictability. Given his history of misleading statements, entrusting Ukraine’s defense to Trump may inadvertently embolden Russia to seize more territory, with Putin potentially seeing little opposition.

Ukraine’s pursuit of NATO membership is rooted in its desire to deter future Russian incursions. The prospect of placing such power in Trump’s hands and allowing negotiations behind closed doors with Putin is alarming, especially considering recent diplomatic disclosures that suggest Trump and Putin may have crafted a deal favorable to Russia’s strategic interests.

As international leaders and Ukrainians consider these developments, skepticism remains that such proposals could undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty. Many hope that European officials and Zelenskyy will challenge and reject these unwarranted concessions.
