Mother of Missing Baby Emmanuel Haro Confronted Over Inconsistencies

Search Continues for Missing 7-Month-Old Baby in California Amid New Concerns

A frantic search for Emmanuel Haro, a 7-month-old boy from southern California, has taken a troubling turn as authorities reveal doubts about the mother’s account of the kidnapping. She reportedly provided inconsistent details and has ceased communication with investigators.

Rebecca Haro previously appealed to the public, claiming that a stranger attacked her outside a sporting goods store in Yucaipa, San Bernardino County, knocked her unconscious, and abducted Emmanuel while she was changing his diaper. She described the attacker as a man who surprised her unexpectedly. During an interview, she showed a visible black eye, recounting, “I was going to get the diaper when someone said, ‘Hola,’ and I don’t remember anything after that. I woke up on the floor and saw Emmanuel wasn’t there.”

The sheriff’s department responded promptly, deploying search teams and K-9 units to track Emmanuel’s scent. Emmanuel is described as weighing about 21 pounds, 24 inches tall, with brown hair and eyes, and is cross-eyed. When last seen, he was wearing a black Nike onesie.

His father, Jake Haro, issued a plea for his son’s safe return, stating, “Whoever took my son, please give him back. We just want him home. We won’t harm you. Please keep him safe, feed him, and change him.”

However, recent developments have cast doubt over the initial narrative. The sheriff’s department announced that, while the investigation remains open, suspicions of foul play are now being considered due to discrepancies in Rebecca’s story. Authorities have interviewed multiple individuals, including Emmanuel’s parents, but Rebecca has refused to continue her interview after inconsistencies were identified.

Police continue to urge anyone with information about Emmanuel’s whereabouts to contact SBSD Sheriff’s Dispatch at 909-387-8313. The department has not yet responded to further inquiries regarding the inconsistencies reported in Rebecca Haro’s account.
