Man United Fans Deface Garnancho Poster Over Chelsea Interest
Manchester United Supporters Make Their Stance Clear on Alejandro Garnacho’s Future Despite Chelsea Interest
Manchester United fans have expressed their strong opinions regarding Alejandro Garnacho’s potential departure from the club ahead of the upcoming Premier League season opener against Arsenal.
The young Argentine winger, who was part of a ‘bomb squad’ alongside Jadon Sancho, Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Tyrell Malacia at the start of summer, is looking to leave Old Trafford. Supporters demonstrated their disapproval by vandalizing a poster of Garnacho outside the stadium, crossing out his face.
Sources report that Garnacho aims to join Chelsea, a club showing significant interest. United initially valued him at around £70 million but have since lowered the asking price to £50 million in hopes of securing his sale. According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho has told United to negotiate his transfer to Chelsea, or he will remain benched for up to a year.
Romano also mentioned that Chelsea has initiated discussions with Manchester United, having already reached personal agreement with the player. The Blues are reportedly satisfied with Garnacho’s background following due diligence and are currently negotiating the transfer fee.
Garnacho has made 144 appearances for Manchester United, netted 26 goals, and contributed 22 assists. He was part of the squad that won the FA Cup in the 2023-24 season and the EFL Cup the previous year.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has also begun negotiations with RB Leipzig over a possible swap deal involving Xavi Simons, with Christopher Nkunku potentially moving in the opposite direction, after his successful stint with the Bundesliga club.
