Taylor Swift Reveals How She Knew Travis Kelce Wasn’t ‘Crazy’ in Love
Taylor Swift Shares Romantic Details About Travis Kelce
During her appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, Taylor Swift compared Travis Kelce’s grand romantic gesture to a scene from an ’80s John Hughes movie, reminiscing that she’s been imagining similar romance since her teenage years.
She revealed that the podcast played a significant role in their relationship, joking that it helped her find her boyfriend and that Travis used it as his “personal dating app.” She recounted how Travis attempted to meet her during her Kansas City stop of the Eras Tour in 2023, calling his efforts a “wild romantic gesture.” Despite his efforts to connect, she noted he didn’t even contact her management, instead trying to get her attention through mutual acquaintances.
She described his gesture as a modern-day version of “standing outside her window with a boombox,” joking about how it felt like a scene straight out of a fairy tale. “If he’s not crazy — which is a big if — this is what I’ve been writing songs about wanting since I was a teenager,” she said. She expressed her happiness that it worked out and thanked him during the podcast, leading Kelce to respond, “I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
Travis shared that he was captivated by Swift from the moment he saw her perform live, describing how her on-stage energy and her in-person charm were overwhelming. They met shortly after she declined to meet him at her Kansas City concert that summer, and began talking soon after, warming up to each other. Swift emphasized that they never had a “hard launch” of their relationship, suggesting they preferred to keep their early dating discreet.
Since then, Swift has supported Kelce by attending NFL games, while Kelce has appeared at her Eras Tour shows, even joining her on stage for a special moment in London. They have enjoyed numerous date nights and shared glimpses of their relationship through social media and public appearances, including a vacation to Montana and house-hunting in Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights.
