Man Pushes Self onto Subway Tracks but Escapes Contact with Train
At a Midtown subway station, a man was shoved onto the train tracks but managed to avoid contact with an oncoming train, sustaining only minor injuries. The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. at the 50th Street and 7th Avenue station.
The individual, who was pushed onto the platform, suffered wounds to his forehead and leg. Despite these injuries, he was able to climb back onto the platform before the train arrived. First responders transported him to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Photographs captured the man bleeding from his knee and with apparent abrasions on his forehead as he was being assisted onto a stretcher by emergency personnel. Witnesses and bystanders also came to his aid before he was taken away in an ambulance, where he was seen smiling despite his injuries.
Authorities are actively searching for the individual responsible for pushing the man onto the tracks. No additional details about the suspect or motive have been disclosed.
