Jasmine Crockett Dismisses No-Show ‘Diva’ Rumors with a Laugh
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett Brushes Off Workplace Allegations with Humor
During a recent interview, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) responded to reports about her workplace conduct on Capitol Hill, which allege that she has created a difficult environment for staff. When asked about these accusations, Crockett laughed and referenced Beyoncé to dismiss the claims.
In her interview on CBS News’s “The Takeout with Major Garrett”, Crockett joked, “Oh my goodness, I know I’ve arrived,” suggesting that such reports are a sign of her prominence. She added, “If they’re not talking about you, then you’re probably not doing anything,” citing Beyoncé’s lyrics.
Multiple former aides described Crockett as “rude” and often absent from the office, alleging she focuses more on self-promotion than legislative work. One former staffer criticized her as “all diva, no wow,” noting her indifference and tendency to scream at staff over minor issues.
Further allegations include her demand that staff rent luxury SUVs, like Escalades, to chauffeur her, which was compared to a power move or treating staff as Uber drivers.
While Crockett did not directly address specific staff allegations, she labeled the story as “slander, nonsense, lies,” and questioned whether the media could objectively judge her leadership. She also reflected on the scrutiny faced as a young Black woman and woman in politics, stating, “Your hate is my motivation,” and promising to continue her work regardless of criticism.
