Kelly Clarkson Cancels Las Vegas Residency Again Amid Sudden Changes
Kelly Clarkson Cancels Remaining Las Vegas Residency Performances Due to Personal Reasons
Pop star and television personality Kelly Clarkson has unexpectedly canceled her scheduled shows for August during her residency in Las Vegas. The singer announced the postponement via Instagram, citing personal health matters related to her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the rest of the August performances,” Clarkson shared. “While I typically keep my private life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill. I need to be fully present for my kids right now.” Clarkson has primary custody of River, 10, and Remington, 8.
Clarkson’s residency, which was set to conclude in mid-November, faced earlier setbacks when she canceled its opening night over Independence Day weekend, explaining her voice was strained after intense rehearsals. She expressed her desire to deliver perfect performances and took time off to rest her voice. Sources indicate she was facing “serious hidden battles” behind the scenes, which contributed to her emotional and physical strain.
The singer’s struggles come months after she took a break from her TV show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” with no initial explanation. Clarkson has previously spoken about her difficult relationship with Blackstock, whom she divorced in 2020 after seven years of marriage, amid ongoing legal disputes over properties, custody, and spousal support. Their divorce was finalized in March 2022, with Clarkson granted primary custody of their children.
Clarkson, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022, also won the right to keep their Montana ranch, although she is ordered to pay Blackstock $115,000 monthly in spousal support until January 2024. The star has openly discussed her challenges with dating post-divorce, joking about the difficulty of finding new partners during her residency performances.
