Two men, Tanaka Brown and Giovante Thomas, both 29, have been charged with assisting a fugitive suspected of murdering a family of four in Tennessee and kidnapping their 7-month-old baby, who was left abandoned on a roadside. The charges against them include accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Both suspects are in custody; Brown is held without bond at Lake County Jail, while Thomas, already detained for unrelated charges, is being transferred for new arraignment.
The suspected murderer, 28-year-old Austin Robert Drummond, is still on the run, with authorities emphasizing he is armed and dangerous. Drummond faces multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, an aggravated kidnapping charge, and weapons offenses. He had a relationship with the victims, suggesting the killings might have been targeted.
The victims, whose bodies were discovered 40 miles from Tigrett in Tiptonville, include parents James M. Wilson, 21, and Adrianna Williams, 20; grandmother Cortney Rose, 38, who was confirmed dead; and 15-year-old Braydon Williams. The 7-month-old baby, Weslynne, was found in her car seat in an unfamiliar yard, sparking a widespread police search.
Drummond, previously convicted of crimes including convenience store robbery and threatening jurors, has additional allegations against him, such as attempted murder while incarcerated. Authorities believe he targeted the family intentionally, and the investigation remains active as they continue to pursue him.
The public is advised to consider Drummond armed and dangerous, as efforts to locate and apprehend him continue.
