Ron Klain: Biden’s Chief of Staff Says the President Was Less Energetic Late in Term

Former White House Chief of Staff Reveals Biden’s Diminished Mental State

Ron Klain, former chief of staff to President Joe Biden, testified before the House Oversight Committee that during Biden’s final year in office, key advisors like national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Hillary Clinton questioned Biden’s political viability. Klain suggested that Biden appeared less energetic, with diminishing memory and difficulty with name recall, issues that reportedly worsened over time.

He claimed Sullivan confided that Biden was “less effective” in 2024 than in previous years. However, Klain denied questions about Biden’s cognitive fitness and age, asserting that the president remains capable of governing.

Klain also shared that he personally donated $5,000 to Hunter Biden’s legal defense fund at the request of Hunter’s attorney. Meanwhile, House Republicans have accused Biden of mental decline, pointing to claims that he was administered “mind-altering” sleeping pills before a debate with Donald Trump, a statement Biden’s supporters deny.

Klain, known for his loyalty, spoke openly about internal disagreements within the Biden administration and expressed regret over comments made to authors about Biden’s decline, though it’s uncertain if Biden responded. He also described Biden’s debate prep as poorly managed, with Klain expressing concern that Biden was unprepared and exhausted leading up to critical performances.

Additional testimonies from aides and officials, including Jill Biden’s former chief of staff and the President’s doctor, are expected as Congress continues to scrutinize Biden’s mental capacity and leadership stability.
