Fashion Model Transitions to Man After Pushing Boundaries

Former Model Detransitions After Medicalization and Finds New Path in California

In Catholic churches throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, Salomé, formerly Miles, energized congregations with her soulful voice and expertise on the organ. Her rising career in the city’s music and fashion scene was complemented by modeling contracts, magazine features, and fashion shows, all achieved while nurturing her musical talents in church programs.

However, beneath her angelic exterior was a secret: she was born male, Miles Yardley. His story echoes a broader narrative of youth rushed into gender transition therapies following internet influences and medical intervention. At 15, Miles was placed on hormone blockers and estrogen after just two visits to a hospital gender clinic, driven by doctors who deemed him an ideal candidate for transition.

This early medical treatment, though seemingly progressive at the time, led Miles down a challenging road. He became a celebrated socialite and model, but questions about his identity and the long-term effects of hormone therapy grew stronger. Diagnosed with brain tumor and hypothyroidism in 2024, both suspected to be linked to hormone treatments, Miles began to reconsider his choices.

His deepening faith and medical scares prompted him to detransition and relocate to California. He explained, “I moved to LA because I couldn’t face telling people I was a man, especially in professions where that revelation could impact my career.” Since stopping hormone therapy, he reports significant mental and physical health improvements, though the process has been difficult and his doctors mostly unhelpful.

Yardley now channels his creative energy into music and fashion, founding a band and a clothing line. Despite uncertainties about whether his youth is permanently affected, he remains optimistic and reflective. He emphasizes the importance of acceptance and understanding, calling for more open-minded medical and social support for gender-nonconforming youth.

Yardley’s journey underscores the need for caution and compassion in young gender transition cases, highlighting personal struggles with medical side effects, social acceptance, and the quest for authenticity.
