Boebert’s Son Tyler Faces Child Abuse Charges
Rep. Lauren Boebert’s Son Faces Child Abuse Charge
Tyler Boebert, the 20-year-old son of Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, has been charged with child abuse related to an incident involving his young nephew. The charge was filed in Colorado on July 11 and is classified as a misdemeanor.
Lauren Boebert minimized the seriousness of the case, attributing it to a “miscommunication on monitoring my grandson,” and stated that no injuries occurred. Child Protective Services has also reviewed the situation.
Over the years, Tyler has faced multiple legal issues. In September 2022, he was involved in a car accident that overturned his father’s SUV, causing injuries to a passenger. The case was eventually reduced to a defective vehicle ticket. In January 2024, he called police claiming his father assaulted him, leading to Jayson Boebert’s arrest for allegedly pushing Tyler and injuring him.
At the time of the child abuse allegation, Tyler was on probation after pleading guilty in October 2024 to attempting to commit identity theft, which included a series of thefts around Colorado. During his criminal case, he faced 22 charges, including five felonies, and negotiated a plea deal that involved community service and substance bans.
He is scheduled to appear in Weld County Court on September 8 for the child abuse charge. It remains unclear whether the misdemeanor will impact his existing probation.
