Southwest Jet Avoids Collision; Flight Attendants Injured

Southwest Airlines Flight Avoids Collision, Two Flight Attendants Hurt

A Southwest Airlines flight heading to Las Vegas was forced to make an abrupt descent shortly after takeoff to prevent a midair collision, resulting in minor injuries to two flight attendants.

Passengers aboard the Burbank to Las Vegas flight reported that the pilot had to perform a sharp dive to steer clear of another aircraft, causing some passengers to be jolted from their seats and bump their heads on the ceiling.

Actor Jimmy Dore, who was on the flight, shared that the pilot announced a collision warning had triggered, prompting immediate evasive action.

Southwest Airlines has confirmed that crew members responded to two onboard traffic alerts during ascent and needed to adjust their altitude accordingly. The airline is now collaborating with the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the incident.

The airline stated that no injuries were reported among customers, but two flight attendants are currently being treated for injuries sustained during the maneuver. Passengers escaped serious harm, highlighting the importance of safety measures during flight.
