Hulk Hogan’s NYC Bar to Reopen After His Passing

Hulk Hogan’s $7 Million Bar Project to Proceed Despite His Passing

The highly anticipated sports bar, valued at $7 million and situated opposite Madison Square Garden, will move forward with its opening plans even after the death of Hulk Hogan, as confirmed by sources close to the project.

The bar, named Slam, was scheduled to unveil a 9,000-square-foot space across from the iconic arena where Hogan debuted in WWE in 1979. The venue was envisioned as a celebration of Hogan’s legendary career, featuring memorabilia, screens showcasing his greatest moments, and his own beer brand, Real American Beer.

Partnered with wrestling enthusiast Rich Rosen, Hogan’s close friend and collaborator on Slam expressed that the project remains a tribute to his legacy. Rosen shared, “Hulk wasn’t just a partner; he was a dear friend. This venue is a place for fans worldwide to gather and honor his enduring influence.”

The site will be designed to resemble the inside of Madison Square Garden, complete with a Jumbotron, and is set to open this fall. Rosen recalled how he personally pitched the idea to Hogan at an autograph signing, waiting hours to meet him and presenting him with a picture of the venue. Hogan responded positively and later contacted Rosen, solidifying his support.

The bar will feature three floors, including a rooftop bar, and will be located at the corner of 8th Avenue and 31st Street. Rosen emphasized that Hogan’s licensing agreement permits him to use his name, and the project is a heartfelt homage where the wrestling legend’s presence would have been felt regularly.

Hogan, who resided in Clearwater, Florida — where he also owned Hogan’s Hangout — passed away following a cardiac arrest. Emergency services responded to a call at his home, and he was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was declared dead. The new S lam venue remains a project close to his heart, meant to honor his extraordinary legacy in sports and entertainment.
