Bryan Kohberger Asked Tinder Match About the Worst Way to Die, Say Police
Incident Details
According to newly released police documents, Bryan Kohberger caused discomfort to one of his Tinder matches when he inquired about death during a conversation. He asked the woman what the worst way to die was after she mentioned that her friend had been murdered in her hometown years earlier.
The woman responded that dying by a knife would be particularly terrible. Kohberger then asked if she was referring to a “KA-BAR” knife, which surprised her. As a result, she ended contact with him, feeling uneasy about his unsettling questions.
Law enforcement later stated that Tinder was unable to verify any such conversation linked to Kohberger, and the timing of the match remains unconfirmed.
This incident highlights one of the disturbing details emerging from police reports released after Kohberger was sentenced to life imprisonment. Additional reports described a previous cellmate who claimed Kohberger would nap during the day and stay awake at night, making noise and shuffling around his cell.
Additional Notable Information
Other reports indicate that Kohberger disfigured one of his victims, Kaylee Goncalves, during her attack. She fought fiercely for her life and sustained severe injuries. The crimes occurred at the victims’ off-campus home at the University of Idaho on November 13, 2022, where he used a knife—believed to be a KA-BAR—to kill Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin.
Kohberger was convicted of first-degree murder and is now serving four consecutive life sentences, along with a 10-year sentence for burglary.
